Opening documents from Digizuite™ Media Manager 5

Office documents that are uploaded as assets in the Digizuite™ Media Manager can be opened directly from the asset previewcard. In order to open the document, click on ‘More’ on "Open" under the online preview/icon (dependent of the availability) and in a few seconds the the document’s asset card and select ‘Open’. Lock functionality

Once an asset is opened in Word/Excel/PowerPoint and the user is logged in in the Office Connector, the asset becomes locked for other users. It means that other users can open the same document, make their own changes to it and save it as a new asset, but they cannot replace the old asset. Only the user who has locked the asset has the ability to do that.It is possible to check out a document just like any other asset in the DAM.

The locked documents are marked with an "eyelocked" icon.
