DC 4.9.0 - 1 Requirements for Installing the DAM Center
Before you can install the Digizuite™ DAM Center (DC), some things have to be in order. The following menu points describe the steps you have to make, to ensure yourself that your installation becomes the best one possible.
1.0 Miscellaneous
The Digizuite™ DAM Center installer requires that there are no other DAM Centers installed on the server already.
1.1 Web server
A Windows 2012 R2 Server or a Windows 2016 Server
Access to the server with administrative rights
Minimum 500 MB hard disk space
ASP.NET 4.6.2 framework or higher.
Run windows update on the machine to ensure everything is up to date.
Access to database server over standard sql connection (typically port 1433)
1.2 Database server
A Windows 2012 R2 Server or a Windows 2016 Server
Minimum 4 GB RAM
Minimum 16 GB hard disk space
Access to the SQL server with administrative rights (usually sa user)
A Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or a Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (Both must not be the Express Edition)
The database server must live up to the following requirements:
Collation
Default + SQL Full-text Filter Daemon Launcher
TCP/IP must be enabled
Server authentication must be SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode
1.3 Storage
Typically you place this on the web server, if you do not have a dedicated storage area already.
It's imperative that you share this folder as defined in step 1.6.
Best practice is to place the folder directly on the drive (e.g. C:, D: and so on) and name it "Storage"
A Windows 2012 R2 Server or a Windows 2016 Server
Shared UNC / CIFS storage area (Without this, the batch server will not be able to access the backend files)
Minimum 16 GB hard disk space
Minimum 7 GB RAM memory
1.4 Batch server
A Windows 2012 R2 Server or a Windows 2016 Server
Access to the server with administrative rights
Minimum 16 GB hard disk space
Minimum 4 GB memory
ASP.NET 4.6.2 framework
Access to database server over standard sql connection (typically port 1433)
1.5 Client
We will make an effort to ensure compatibility with modern browser behavior, but can only guarantee full support for the following browsers as they were at the time of this release:
Windows
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox
Google Chrome (64-bit)
Mac OS
Google Chrome (64-bit)
1.6 Users
Web/storage server
For the Digizuite™ DAM Center to function correctly, you need to create two users: "assetstream" and "digibatch". Both users' passwords must never expire =set password to never expire! The digibatch user must be a member of the Administrators group.
It is recommended to create them as domain users, however this is not a necessity. If you do not create a them as domain users, you have to create the users with the same passwords across all servers.
Their usernames and passwords must not include characters that break XML syntax (i.e. ",',<,>,&).
In step 1.3 you've created a folder that you'll use for storage. This folder you give the digibatch user complete read/write access to, and the assetstream user you only give complete read access to.
Batch server
Use the following guide to give the digibatch user on the batch server, the right to log on as a service: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc794944(v=ws.10).aspx
Use the images below to help you out setting this up.
After this you must add the following groups to the digibatch user (for both the web and the batch server):
Administrators (Without it the installer may very likely fail)
Performance Monitor Users (Without it the installer will not fail, but certain asset conversion jobs will)
(Optional) Remote Desktop Users (so you can login with the digibatch user)
After the installation, you have to go back to this folder, and give the assetstream user write access to the following Storage (from step 1.3) folders:
...\DMM\Upload
...\DMM\FtpUpload
1.7 DNS lookup
To perform the Digizuite™ DAM Center installation you need to have defined and created the necessary DNS records:
Example: dc.mycompany.com
if the customer is managing the DNS themselves - then verify this is done and supplied to you.
If Digizuite is supplying the DNS - then follow this guide to create DNS How to make a DNS entry @ Athena
