DC 6.0 Importer

The Importer is an application designed for ingesting an arbitrary number of asset files and/or metadata into the DAM Center (DC). There are three basic types of operations supported:

• Upload assets without metadata.

• Upload assets with metadata.

• Set metadata on existing assets.

Assets can be anything supported by the DC.
Metadata can be in the format of any of these three types: XML, Excel, or CSV.
The upload operation can be set up to replace existing assets automatically.

Important note on using zipped files as input

Folder names contained in zipped files must adhere to standard rules for folder naming so no types of special characters are allowed. The recommendation is to use letters, numbers, dot and underscore. This recommendation extends to naming of input asset files as well.
