25.1 - New features
AI-powered similar image search
KeyShot Dock now offers the ability to search for image similarity based power by AI. Instead of relying on traditional keyword-based search methods, this approach focuses on the content of the images themselves. The system analyzes the visual elements, such as colors, shapes, textures, and patterns, to compare images and identify matches.
When enabled the search is conducted through the asset actions where the user can search for similar images with the Show similar images action
The selection opens a pop-up showing the most similar images. The below are examples with a rose and a tiger.
Asset relations
Asset relations are a new system concept that allows configurators of the system to setup granular relations and behaviors on these. This gives much more flexibility and control than the old way of relating assets.
Once configured, the asset relations are available in the asset details overview. The below shows how a 3D file has relations to all the files that are used in the file
For more information we refer to the Terminologies section
3D Previews
GLB files can now be 3D-previewed:
Please note that GLB files will not have thumbnails by default. In the recording above, a thumbnail has been manually uploaded and configured for the GLB file, using the new custom thumbnail functionality that utilizes asset relations.
Commenting at the level of versions
Commenting has been improved when versioning assets. In previous versions of the software, comments would “stick” to the latest version of an asset. This means comments made on older versions of assets were not displayed on the archived asset, but rather on the parent.
With the new changes to comments, the comments section gives a more visual indication of comments on older versions and shows the entire trail:
Additionally, the related assets section, where the older versions of the assets can be seen, gives the user a quick overview of the comments belonging to an older version:
