If a Filter isĀ visible, that means that the Media Manager andĀ Video Portal displays theĀ filterĀ as an option when searching (if they use that searchĀ to gather input from the user.).
Whether aĀ filter isĀ visible or not is defined during creation of theĀ filter:
It can also be updated in the The Details panel.
For thisĀ example, theĀ Media Manager uses aĀ searchĀ calledĀ DigiZuite_System_Framework_Search:
TheĀ filtersĀ have been sorted by the "Visible filter"Ā column.Ā
The visibleĀ filters in this searchĀ are anĀ asset type filter,Ā aĀ start_date filter,Ā aĀ keywords filter, and aĀ menu filter. Because these fourĀ filters areĀ visible, they can be selected as filters in theĀ Media Manager:

If aĀ filterĀ is notĀ visible, it can still be used to filterĀ outĀ results, but theĀ filters'Ā parameters cannot be supplied by anyone other than the client code or Predetermined values.
