DC 5.6 Breaking Changes - Search engine

With 5.6 a new search engine utilizing Elastic search has been released this has an impact on the usage in Media Manager and brings a larger feature set.

The impact on updates are the following

• Elastic search must be installed and/or configured locally or in the cloud - see documentation

• Filters for the MediaManager must be re-configured - see documentation

• Freetext search in MediaManager must be re-configured - see documentation

• Custom sort options on clients must be re-configured - see documentation

• Freetext search now requires searching for either the full or an inflection of that word. Substrings of words are no longer matched.

On top of that it also it also expands the feature set with the following features

• Excluding facets

• Recursive tree searches

• Improved free text searching capabilities - see Elastic search documentation

• Dependent filters based of dependent metadata setup

• Improved performance on indexing
