Asset transformations - formats & renditions
KeyShot Dock offers the ability to transform and resize assets in different ways, making it easier for teams to create assets in various formats and sizes without needing to use separate editing software.
In KeyShot Dock there are two important concepts
Formats
Renditions
Where the format is the definition of the end result defining how the variation of the asset should be created and the rendition is the variation of the asset that was created following the format definition.
This format definition allows the ability to define the following asset transformation operations
Resizing
KeyShot Dock allows automatic resizing of images to different dimensions based on predefined settings. For example, the system can be setup to automatically create multiple renditions of an image, such as:
Thumbnail size for website previews.
Medium size for social media posts.
High resolution for printing or advertisements.
This can save a lot of time, especially when working with many images and having a need to have them them in various sizes for different purposes.
Aspect ratio
KeyShot Dock allows the user to change the aspect ratio of images. This means images can be resized while maintaining or changing its proportions which is useful for optimizing images for specific devices or platforms.
Color space
KeyShot Dock allows conversion between different color spaces where it can convert into the following color spaces
RGB
sRGB
GrayScale
Additionally many other color spaces are support as inputs - for instance CMYK.
File format conversion
KeyShot Dock allows conversion between different file formats. This includes simple image to image conversions like png to jpg, but also more advanced conversions of generating thumbnails for videos, pdfs and rendering photoshop files.
Advanced features
